In-person Meetings with Longmont Employers: LEDP Gears Up to Tackle Economic Issues in the Post-Pandemic Era

ELEVATE Longmont Revives Business Interviews

In the upcoming months, LEDP will be arranging face-to-face meetings with employers in the Longmont area to learn more about their needs and concerns. The primary focus of these meetings is on the main businesses in Longmont, as LEDP aims to gather valuable insights into their operations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person meetings were not possible previously, but LEDP is now planning to resume these interactions this spring.

LEDP has been recognized in the region for its efforts in reaching out to primary employers and providing them with various services such as data insights, incentive negotiations, administration of the North Metro Enterprise Zone, advocacy, and site selection services. Erin Fosdick, Executive Director of LEDP expressed her excitement about engaging with businesses directly and delving into the challenges and opportunities of operating in Longmont.

Through interviews and online surveys conducted by ELEVATE Longmont, issues like talent retention, housing costs, and availability have been identified. The data collected has allowed LEDP to collaborate with the city of Longmont to address these issues and form advocacy groups like Prosper Longmont. Prosper Longmont focuses on promoting equal access for residents to participate in the local economy and build wealth for the future.

Fosdick highlighted that these in-person interviews are crucial as they provide a more complete understanding of economic issues and opportunities compared to surveys alone. By establishing connections through these meetings, LEDP aims to showcase the work being done by businesses and facilitate networking among investors and stakeholders. She emphasized that this initiative reflects LEDP’s commitment to supporting and enhancing the local business community. Through these interactions, LEDP hopes to address key concerns, foster collaboration
