Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker recently signed two measures into law aimed at protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ people in the state, as other states are rolling back protections for the community. This move comes amid a state of emergency declared by the Human Rights Campaign for LGBTQ+ people in the U.S, highlighting the need for states to take action to protect the rights of these individuals. In addition to these measures, Illinois is also focusing on boosting its economy by signing a package of bills designed to incentivize corporate development and enhance the state’s competitiveness in attracting new businesses and capital investments. These bills include investments in tax credit programs for the film industry and research and development projects throughout the state, building on Illinois’ reputation as a growing tech hub and further positioning it as a desirable destination for businesses and investors.
