IDF Neutralizes Threat Along Humanitarian Route, Clarifies No Danger to Aid Workers

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) probes reports of gunshots in the vicinity of World Food Program personnel

On Friday, the IDF conducted an investigation following reports of gunfire near World Food Program workers along the Humanitarian Route from the Kerem Shalom Crossing. The investigation found that Israeli forces neutralized two gunmen who posed a threat to troops in the area. However, it was emphasized that no danger was posed to the aid workers as the gunmen were not close to the UN team during the strike.

In a separate incident involving reports of a shooting in the Al Mawasi area on Friday, the IDF stated that they are examining the incident. According to an initial inquiry, there was no direct attack carried out by the IDF against a Red Cross facility in the area. The findings of the investigation will be shared with Israel’s partners and international officials for further review and assessment. The IDF clarified that their actions were aimed at eliminating terrorist operatives who posed a threat to Israeli soldiers and civilians in the region and not against humanitarian workers or facilities.
