Effective July 1, the State of Idaho is transitioning its health insurance coverage from Blue Cross of Idaho to Regence Blue Shield of Idaho. However, dental coverage will remain under Blue Cross of Idaho. Benefit-eligible employees can expect to receive new Regence medical cards and Blue Cross dental cards before the transition date. Each enrolled family member will receive their own medical card from Regence, while Blue Cross of Idaho will provide dental cards for each household.
It is important for individuals to review and update their personal contact information in BroncoHub to ensure that their mailing address is correct for the delivery of the new cards. To help with this transition, the Office of Group Insurance website has an “Important Regence Benefit Information” PDF, which can be accessed by clicking on a green button. This document includes detailed instructions for new Regence plan participants on how to contact customer service, as well as how to verify in-network providers and pharmacies.
If employees have any questions or require more information regarding the transition of health insurance coverage, they can contact benefits@boisestate.edu.
