ICC assures appropriate measures in place to address terror threat to T20 World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has responded to reports indicating that Cricket West Indies had received a terror threat from Northern Pakistan. In response, the international cricketing body has stated that it has plans in place to mitigate any risk identified with the upcoming marquee event.

Meanwhile, the West Indies Cricket board also commented on the issue, stating that they have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place to ensure the safety and security of everyone at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Speaking about the threat, ICC stated, “We work closely with authorities in the host countries and cities, and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event.”

The ICC added that they take all threats seriously and have implemented measures to protect players, officials, and spectators. They also noted that they have been working with local authorities to enhance security protocols and increase police presence in key areas surrounding the stadium.
