Hybrid Public Involvement Meeting Announced for Greenwich’s Route 1 Corridor Adaptive Signal Control Technology Improvements Project

Department of Public Works to Hold Public Meeting on Advanced Signal Control Technology Enhancements for Route 1 Corridor

The Greenwich Department of Public Works has completed the initial design work for the Route 1 Corridor Adaptive Signal Control Technology Improvements Project. The project, funded under the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program managed by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, is now set to move forward with construction. In line with town and state policy, a hybrid public involvement meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2024, at 6:00 pm. The meeting will take place in the Greenwich Town Hall Meeting Room and can also be accessed virtually through Zoom.

The primary goal of the project is to improve air quality, reduce congestion, minimize delays, and decrease travel time along the Route 1 corridor and near I-95 Exit 5. The estimated cost of construction is $4 million, with full reimbursement up to that amount provided by the Federal Highway Administration.

Those without internet access can participate in the meeting by calling a designated phone number. Language assistance can be requested through the CTDOT’s Language Assistance Call Line at least five business days before the meeting. Following the public involvement meeting, there will be a 14-day comment period for individuals to provide feedback or ask questions. For more information on how to access the Zoom link for the meeting or contact Michael Kiselak at [email protected] or (203)622-3839 for further details.
