On Friday, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers from the Howell Police Department were called to a local business on the 100 block of W Grand River Ave. upon receiving a complaint of threats made at the location.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that a man had been shot inside the building. As a result, one individual was taken into custody. The Howell Police Department issued a statement emphasizing that there is no current threat to the public and that this incident did not occur near the Balloonfest event and is not connected to it in any way. The police department described this as an isolated incident, and all individuals involved are cooperating with the investigation.
The public was urged to avoid responding to the scene so that investigators could conduct their work uninterrupted. As the investigation continues, no additional information is available at this time. 6 News will continue to provide updates on the situation as they become available.
