How the Tennessee Titans are leveraging analytics to make more informed decisions

Report: Titans expand analytics department with addition of two new members

The Tennessee Titans have recently undergone a shift in their approach to decision-making, with analytics now being a top priority for the team. This change in strategy is largely thanks to the leadership of general manager Ran Carthon and president of football operations Chad Brinker, who have made it clear that data-driven insights are crucial to their success.

In fact, Brinker even developed his own model for analyzing player performance, which he brought to Tennessee with him when he took on his current role. The model has proven to be highly effective, allowing the Titans to make more informed decisions about which players will be most valuable to their team.

To further demonstrate their commitment to analytics, the Titans made two key hires on Thursday: Erin Psajdl Davis and Alex Rogers. Both individuals have extensive experience working with data in sports settings, with Psajdl Davis having worked as a data scientist with both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans, while Rogers has interned with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

While analytics are just one tool that teams use to make decisions, they are an increasingly important factor in sports decision-making. The Titans’ continued focus on analytics shows that they understand this and are committed to using data to inform their decisions moving forward.
