An arrest was made of a 31-year-old business owner in Harris County, Texas, over the weekend for attempting to meet and engage in sexual acts with a minor. Eduardo Ramirez Lepe was taken into custody by investigators from Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen’s Internet Crimes Against Children’s Unit for Online Solicitation of a Minor, a second-degree felony.
According to authorities, Lepe had arrived at a location in Houston intending to meet a young girl for sexual activity. However, instead of meeting the minor, he was met by an undercover officer with whom he had been communicating via social media. During their online conversations, Lepe had made plans to take the minor to a hotel for sex acts.
Lepe owned Collection Affection, a business that sells, buys and trades Anime and hobby collectibles such as Pokeman and Funko Pops. He claimed to work at Denny’s Restaurant in Houston when he arrived to meet the minor. He brought flowers, condoms and a loaded handgun with him. He is currently being held in Harris County Jail without bond set.
The authorities emphasized the importance of monitoring children’s online activities to prevent such incidents from happening again. Parents are urged to closely monitor their child’s online interactions to ensure their safety.
