Hope College Softball Stars Recognized on Academic All-District® Teams: Vermeesch, Adams, Martin, Connelly, and DeMann Honored

Five Students Selected for Academic All-District® Softball Teams in College Sports Communication

Five Hope College student-athlete teams have been selected for the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball Teams by College Sports Communicators. The honorees include seniors Alaina Adams, Emily Martin, and Samantha Vermeesch, junior Grace Connelly, and sophomore Kate DeMann.

Vermeesch, who won nine games this season, has advanced to the Academic All-America® ballot. The first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® selections will be announced later this summer. Vermeesch, a psychology major and right-hander, had a 2.07 ERA over 91.1 innings pitched and was named to the All-MIAA Second Team. Adams, a nursing major and right-hander, had a 3.99 ERA over 45.2 innings pitched. Martin had career-highs in batting average, games played, and stolen bases. Connelly, a communication major and right-hander, posted a 7-2 record with a 2.80 ERA. DeMann, a neuroscience major and right fielder, had career-highs in several categories, including hits and RBIs.
