Honoring Top CS Graduates: A Closer Look at the Selection Process and Celebration

College of Engineering & Applied Science hosts lunch with top student in computer science program

This semester, the Computer Science faculty honored their top graduating seniors. The recipients of these awards were Hudson See, Nathan Leverence, Zachary Dunn, Jacob Hansen, Anna Fronk, Michael McLaughlin, and Mitchell Ladwig. Each student was chosen based on their academic performance, achievements in challenging classes, and contributions to projects or research.

To select the award recipients, the faculty members reviewed transcripts for the top 15% of students in the department. They also took into account the students’ performance in challenging coursework and any outstanding achievements in projects or research endeavors.

Once the students were selected, the department chair created personalized certificates to honor their achievements. In addition to receiving a certificate, each student also received a gift as a token of appreciation for their hard work. To celebrate their accomplishments, the students were treated to a catered lunch at the LEC where they shared their experiences in the field of computing and discussed their future plans.
