Honoring the Best: The Detroit High School Sports Awards Reveal Boys Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year Nominees

Nominees for Boys Swimming and Diving

The Detroit High School Sports Awards, in partnership with Detroit Area Honda Dealers and the U.S. Army, is excited to reveal the nominees for the Boys Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year. This program, which is part of a larger national initiative, aims to recognize outstanding student-athletes in the greater Detroit region who participate in Michigan High School Athletic Association sports.

The live show on June 18 at The Fillmore Detroit will honor players of the year in 28 other sports, as well as premier awards for achievements both on and off the field. These awards include the Courage Award, Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year, and the Boys and Girls Athlete of the Year awards. Nominees who RSVP will receive complimentary tickets to the event, sponsored by generous supporters.

The nominees for Boys Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year are Olin Charnstrom from Oxford High School, Andrew Delzer from Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood School, Gus MacDonald from Birmingham Groves High School, Luke Mychalowych from Novi Detroit Catholic Central High School, Luke Newcomb from Brighton High School and Elliot Rijnovean from Birmingham Seaholm High School.
