Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation’s Partnerships with Advanced Manufacturing Companies Set to Drive Innovation and Create Job Opportunities

Collaboration between Hong Kong Science Park and high-tech companies to enhance innovation hub ambitions in the city

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) has announced partnerships with 11 advanced manufacturing companies as part of the city’s goal to become an innovation hub. These companies will establish their research and development centers, as well as operational and production bases at the HKSTP’s Science Park and InnoPark. Science Park serves as the city’s start-up hub, while InnoPark is a large-scale production space aimed at promoting technological innovation.

According to Sun Dong, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology, and Industry, this partnership will create synergies with local businesses, research institutions, and higher education institutions to drive the development of diverse industrial chains and establish a dynamic innovation and technology ecosystem in Hong Kong. Sun expressed his confidence in Hong Kong’s efforts to build an international innovation and technology hub, as demonstrated by these companies’ decision to establish or expand their advanced manufacturing operations in the city.

The 11 companies, which are leaders in industries such as biopharmaceuticals, artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, semiconductors, new energy vehicles, and green energy, are expected to make a total investment of HK$14 billion (US$1.8 billion).
