Hollidaysburg Tennis Team Stays Unbeaten, While Central Baseball Team Puts Up Strong Offensive Performance

The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team won 3-2 over Altoona on Tuesday, improving their record to 5-0. Luke Mitchell of Altoona got a win in singles play and from its doubles team of Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer. Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg earned singles wins from Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel, as well as the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney.

On the other hand, Central defeated Penns Valley 19-9 in six innings in high school baseball. Mason Byler picked up the win in relief, with Jay Hoenstine leading the Dragon offense with three hits and four RBIs. Troy McNichol also had three hits and three RBIs, while Griffin Snowberger had three hits and two RBIs. Britton Marko had two hits and three RBIs as well.

Despite multiple errors on both sides, Central came out on top with strong offensive performances. Altoona’s Luke Mitchell put up a good fight in singles play but was ultimately defeated by Hollidaysburg’s Ben Johnson. Overall, Hollidaysburg remained undefeated with a 5-0 record while Altoona’s record dropped to 1-4 after the match.

In summary, both Hollidaysburg in tennis and Central in baseball had successful outings, earning victories in their respective matches. With strong individual performances and overall team efforts, both teams continue to demonstrate their skill and determination in their respective sports.
