Hollidaysburg Boys Tennis Team Secures Conference Title with Impressive 2024 Season

The Hollidaysburg boys tennis team had an impressive 2024 season, finishing with a record of 19-1. They secured a victory over Bedford on Monday, winning all five matches and claiming the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference team tennis title. Standout players Ben Johnson, Garrett Bouchard, and Michael Waibel secured singles wins, while the doubles team of Felix Xu-Yvan Chen and Alex Arbogast-Jacob Sidney also emerged victorious.

Hollidaysburg coach Brian Denis expressed pride in his team’s performance, noting that it was a great way to close out an outstanding season. The victory came after districts, allowing the team to finish on a high note. Denis emphasized the hard work of the players and their potential for an even better year ahead, with a strong returning nucleus.

In singles play, Johnson defeated Ruffley, Bouchard defeated Clapper, and Waibel defeated Trimeloni. In doubles, the team of Xu and Chen defeated Becker and Gable, while Arbogast and Sidney defeated Ednie and Greenawalt. The win improved Hollidaysburg’s record to 19-1, while Bedford fell to 15-3.
