Highmark Health’s Evolution: Letting Go of 98 Employees to Reinvent Operations and Achieve the Quintuple Aim

Pennsylvania Health Insurance Company Lays Off Over 300 Employees Since March

Highmark Health has recently made the decision to let go of 98 employees, impacting various regions including central Pennsylvania. This move is part of the organization’s efforts to reinvent its operations in order to better meet the evolving needs of its members and communities through the Living Health model. By simplifying and reimagining its operations, Highmark Health aims to achieve the quintuple aim of providing a better patient experience, increasing clinician satisfaction, promoting health equity and outcomes, all while reducing costs.

Since March, Highmark Health has let go of more than 300 employees, with layoffs occurring in various regions including central Pennsylvania. In addition to the recent 98 layoffs, which included 18 individuals from central Pennsylvania, last month 47 employees were laid off, with 11 from the central Pennsylvania region. In March, a total of 182 employees were let go, including 40 employees from the Harrisburg region.
