The High School Soccer Regional Quarterfinals were recently held, featuring several exciting matchups. In the Class 4A Boys category, San Elizario emerged victorious over Austin with a score of 5-0, while Riverside edged out Bowie 1-0. In the Class 5A Boys division, Burges came out on top over Amarillo Caprock with a score of 2-1. Meanwhile, in the Class 6A Boys matches, Eastlake triumphed over Odessa Permian 3-0 and Pebble Hills defeated Montwood in overtime with a score of 1-0. The Class 4A Girls game saw San Elizario beating Midland Greenwood with a final score of 3-1.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, Canutillo dominated Chapin in High School Baseball action by scoring them an impressive 10 runs to zero. Standout performances included E. Meléndez’s strong pitching performance and I. Garza’s contribution with two RBIs. Clint also had a standout win against Fabens, scoring them four runs to their opponent’s two runs in a dominant performance by Joe Aranda who pitched eight strikeouts and Nomar Maldonado hitting a triple with three RBIs as well as Alan Gonzalez contributing two RBIs each. Eastwood also came out on top over Franklin with a final score of five runs to four runs for Franklin in their matchup. Finally, Ysleta secured a victory over Del Valle after nine innings with a final score of two runs to one run for Del Valle.
