This week has been a busy one for high school sports, with our reporters from the Sun Journal, Central Maine, and Press Herald covering the action and conducting postgame interviews. One of the standout events of the week was the Waterville Invitational track and field meet, which brought together top athletes from across central Maine. This meet served as preparation for the upcoming championship season, providing competitors with valuable experience and competition.

In Leavitt softball, a thrilling moment occurred when Sam Deblois hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure a 4-3 victory over Buckfield. Deblois shared her thoughts on the game-winning hit in a postgame interview, showcasing the excitement and intensity of high school sports.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill baseball faced a 5-0 deficit against Hall-Dale in an MVC game this week. Despite facing an early setback, Oak Hill’s Trent Drouin highlighted the team’s mental strength and determination to bounce back from adversity. The Raiders rallied and scored multiple runs to secure a comeback victory.

In a surprising turn of events, Nokomis softball ended Hall-Dale’s impressive 62-game winning streak with a dominant performance by Mia Coots, who struck out 11 batters. The Warriors celebrated their role as streak-busters, highlighting the competitive spirit and unpredictability of high school sports.

Overall, it has been an eventful week in high school sports, with exciting moments
