The Oklahoma Sooner softball players Jayda Coleman, Kierston Deal, and Kinzie Hansen will be the featured speakers at the OKC Metro High School Sports Awards. These awards are presented by LC Management Group and will take place on June 14th at the Rose State Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased through a provided link.
Jayda Coleman played a pivotal role in the Sooners’ Women’s College World Series victory, hitting a walk-off, solo home run that helped them advance to the finals where they ultimately claimed their fourth consecutive national championship. Coleman is a four-time All-American and was named the 2023 Big12 Athlete of the Year, as well as a top 10 finalist for the 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.
Kinzie Hansen also made significant contributions during the WCWS, hitting two home runs and driving in six runs throughout the tournament. As a member of the USA Softball Women’s National Team, Hansen is a 4X All-American and was named best college softball catcher in 2023 with Johnny Bench Award. She currently holds single game program record for hits and ranks tenth in program history for career home runs.
Sophomore pitcher Kierston Deal proved to be a reliable player during the WCWS, pitching 9.1 innings across four games. With a 13-1 record this season, Deal played a crucial role in team success especially during Women’s College World Series.
The OKC Metro High School Sports Awards is part of nine months student-athlete recognition program that celebrates athletes coaches teams from Oklahoma City Metro area. This regional show is one of twenty similar events held across United States and will culminate in red carpet event springtime
