Chris Hemsworth has been cast as the star of an upcoming Paramount film that will see a crossover between Transformers and G.I. Joe. The script for this unique project will be written by Derek Connolly, who is known for his work on Jurassic World and Detective Pikachu.
This collaboration between two iconic toy lines, Autobots and Joes, will bring together fans of both franchises on the big screen for the first time. Although the characters have crossed paths in comic books before, this film promises to showcase their teamwork against their enemies, the Decepticons and Cobra.
Derek Connolly has demonstrated his versatility as a screenwriter by working with director Colin Trevorrow on their breakout film Safety Not Guaranteed, which won multiple awards. He has since been involved in major franchises like Jurassic World, Star Wars, and Pokémon. His recent projects include an adaptation of The Legend of Zelda and he is represented by Verve and Ginsburg Daniels.
The project is being produced by a talented team including Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy, with Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment serving as executive producers.
