Health in All Policies: Unlocking Health Equity through Comprehensive Action Across Sectors

Enhancing cross-sector collaboration to improve health equity

The WHO Global Knowledge Network for Health Equity and the Global Network for Health in All Policies invite you to join a webinar that explores the concept of Health in All Policies (HiAP) and its potential to advance equity across various sectors. During this webinar, participants will gain insights into HiAP and how it can lead to comprehensive action on health equity.

The target audience for this webinar includes government officials and stakeholders responsible for coordinating actions on social determinants at a national level. The programme will begin with a welcome and introductions by Etienne Krug, Director of the Department of Social Determinants of Health at WHO. Next, Nicole Valentine, Programme Manager and Technical Officer at WHO, will present on Health in All Policies. Finally, Carmel Williams, Director of the Centre for HiAP Research Translation in Australia, will facilitate a panel discussion and Q&A session.

Examples of HiAP initiatives and their impacts on health equity will be shared by representatives from different countries. Dr. Tipicha Posayanonda from Thailand will discuss the HiAP and Thai School Lunch policy, Gladys Mugambi from Kenya will talk about the integration of Health and Nutrition in Other Sectors, and Ms. Gigja Gunnarsdottir from Iceland will share insights on Wellbeing for All in a Health-Promoting Community. The webinar will conclude with remarks by Sudhvir Singh, Unit Head of Equity and Health at the Department of Social Determinants of Health at WHO.

By attending this webinar, participants can gain a deeper understanding of HiAP’s potential to promote equity in various sectors through practical examples shared by experts with experience implementing these initiatives.
