The search for a new head coach for the San Jose Sharks is progressing, with second interviews taking place. According to Elliotte Friedman on his “32 Thoughts” podcast on Monday, assistant coach Ryan Warsofsky has had two interviews and former Detroit Red Wings head coach Jeff Blashill is about to have his second interview. Meanwhile, Ontario Reign head coach Marco Sturm has also had an interview, but it’s unclear if a second interview is in the works.

Friedman also shared an amusing anecdote involving Ryan Warsofsky and Brian Rafalski on his show, shedding light on his work as an insider. Last week, he reported that the Sharks were considering Jeremy Colliton, former head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, for the position. San Jose Hockey Now has reported that Tampa Bay Lightning assistant coach Jeff Halpern is also being considered for the role.
