Drone Technology Used for Hawaiian Electric Aerial Inspections in Kāʻanapali Area on April 3: Maui Now

On April 3, 2024, Hawaiian Electric will be conducting aerial inspections of its infrastructure in the Kāʻanapali, West Maui area using drones. The inspections are scheduled to take place from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, weather permitting.

Hawaiian Electric’s Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) program is fully compliant with all Federal Aviation Administration rules. To ensure the safe and efficient use of drones, the company has implemented safety, training, operating, and privacy procedures.
