Hauppauge Middle School Students Shine at 2024 PWGC Science Fair, Earning Top Awards for Innovative Research Projects

Hauppauge Middle School Students Awarded Medals at PWGC Science Fair

In the 2024 PWGC Science Fair, three Hauppauge Middle School students received awards for their research projects. Vaibhavi Hedge took third place for her project on creating biodegradable plastic, earning a $250 prize. Ishaan Maheshkumar won second place for his project on energy conservation using the Seebeck Effect, receiving a $500 cash prize. Mihir Sathish Kumar took first place with his project on microplastic filtration, earning a $1,000 cash prize.

The Hauppauge School District commended the students for their exceptional achievements and recognized their hard work. The Director of Science and Research, Robert Wankmuller, congratulated the winners and their science research teacher, Janice Caffrey, for their dedication and success at the science fair. The district expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments and their contributions to the field of science.
