Harry Kane to Lead England in Euro 2024 After Recovering from Injury: Gareth Southgate

England captain Kane ready and excited for Euros

England’s all-time leading goalscorer, Harry Kane, has recovered from a back injury and is ready to lead his country into Euro 2024, according to manager Gareth Southgate. Kane, who is 30 years old, had to be substituted during Bayern Munich’s Champions League semi-final second leg match against Real Madrid due to his injury. He then missed the final two Bundesliga games of the season.

Despite dealing with a “complete blockage” and having trouble moving, Bayern Munich’s outgoing boss, Thomas Tuchel, praised Kane’s performance and commitment to the club. However, Southgate emphasized that they are not worried about the injury at the moment and that Kane is nearly back to full fitness and in good spirits about the situation.

Kane had a successful season with Bayern Munich, scoring 44 goals in 45 appearances after his move from Tottenham last summer. Despite not winning any trophies with the German club, Kane’s commitment and determination to succeed in this new challenge have never faltered. Southgate acknowledged that Kane may be disappointed with the lack of silverware but mentioned that the striker is focused on the upcoming tournament.

Southgate praised Kane’s performance in the Bundesliga and highlighted that the club is pleased with his goal-scoring contributions. He noted that Kane had a slightly different role at Bayern Munich, focusing more on staying higher up the pitch and being less involved in the build-up play. Despite this adjustment, Kane has delivered the goals that were expected of him, showcasing his ability to adapt to different tactical demands.
