Hamas Blames Netanyahu for Negotiations Stagnation, Promises to Continue Dialogue if Another Party is Willing

Hamas source says Israeli delegation kept them waiting in Cairo for two days

During a recent interview with the Saudi TV channel Al-Sharak, a member of the Hamas delegation participating in negotiations in Cairo placed the blame on Benjamin Netanyahu for the stagnation in talks with Israel. However, he emphasized that if another party was willing to engage in dialogue, Hamas would be ready to continue negotiations.

The representative from Hamas clarified that they had not withdrawn from the discussions or rejected the Egyptian mediators, but had been waiting for two days for the Israeli delegation to appear in Cairo. Despite this delay, the Hamas representative expressed their commitment to finding a solution and their willingness to participate in further negotiations.

The Hamas representative also highlighted that they have proposed their own interpretations of certain points of the agreement and are awaiting a response from Israel. Additionally, he criticized Netanyahu’s statements to the Israelis as raising suspicion about his true intentions regarding continuing the conflict.

Despite these challenges, there is still hope for an agreement if both sides demonstrate seriousness in their negotiations. The focus remains on identifying common ground and working towards a resolution that benefits both sides.
