The Skytrax World Airport Awards are a prestigious recognition of customer satisfaction, and in recent years, the top contenders for the title of “world’s best airport” have been Doha’s Hamad International and Singapore Changi. However, in 2024, Hamad International surpassed Singapore Changi to claim the top spot.
For Asia, Seoul Incheon Airport secured third place and was also named the most family-friendly airport of 2024. Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports took fourth and fifth place respectively. In Europe, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul maintained positions in the top 10. Some other notable movements in the rankings included New York’s JFK falling to 93rd place, London Heathrow moving up one spot to 21st, and Japan’s Okinawa making the biggest leap from 199th to 91st place.
In North America, Denver International Airport saw a significant improvement in ranking after implementing new security measures and improving passenger amenities. San Francisco International Airport also improved its rankings with better facilities for disabled passengers. In South America, Buenos Aires Ezeiza Ministro Pistorini International Airport was named the most improved airport of 2024 due to its efforts towards sustainability and environmental conservation.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Badr Al Meer, expressed honor at Hamad International Airport being voted the Best Airport in the World for the third time. The airport celebrates its 10th year of operation this year. Dubai also made it into the top list as Dubai International Airport was ranked as number four in world airport rankings by Skytrax World Airport Awards. Rome Fiumicino came fifth while Vienna was ranked sixth on this list followed by Madrid-Barajas that secured seventh position.
Overall, these awards highlight airports that prioritize customer satisfaction and offer exceptional experiences for their passengers.
