Halo Space: Revolutionizing Space Tourism with Helium Balloons and Innovative Design

Discover the Inner Workings of the Space Tourism Company with Helium Balloons

In 2021, Halo Space was founded with the goal of making space tourism more accessible. The company’s unique approach to space travel involves using helium balloons instead of traditional rockets or jets. CEO Carlos Mira has ambitious plans to launch commercial flights by 2026 and hopes to take 10,000 people to the stratosphere by 2030.

To make their capsules more comfortable and spacious, Halo Space enlisted the help of renowned industrial designer Frank Stephenson, best known for his work at Ferrari and Maserati. Stephenson emphasized the importance of maximizing space, especially in the bathroom, to ensure a comfortable experience for passengers.

Last Wednesday, Halo Space unveiled the interior of their capsule at a London event. The company believes that by using helium balloons and innovative design, they can offer a more affordable and sustainable alternative to other space tourism companies like Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic. The mannequin in the images provided represents the 95th percentile for male height, indicating that the capsule’s design takes into account the needs of all passengers. Tickets for these flights are still priced at around $150,000 each.
