Gymnastics World Championship Comes to Indonesia in 2025: Celebrating the Perseverance and Dedication of Elite Athletes

Indonesia to Host World Gymnastics Championships for the First Time in 2025

Indonesia will host the prestigious world artistic gymnastics championships in 2025, marking the first time the country has hosted the event. The championships will take place in Jakarta from Oct. 19-25 next year, with a population of about 280 million. Previously, Indonesia hosted the 2018 Asian Games, where gymnastics competitions were held in a hall within the Jakarta International Expo complex. The venue for the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships is listed as IMS Arena.

The International Gymnastics Federation has not released the schedule yet, but it is expected to last for seven days, following the format of previous competitions that were individual events only. World championships featuring team events tend to be longer than one week. The most recent world championships were held in Antwerp, Belgium last year, and the 2026 Worlds were awarded to Rotterdam, Netherlands, and the 2027 Worlds to Chengdu, China.

Simone Biles, a celebrated American gymnast who experienced challenges with a condition known as twisties and took some time off from her sport before returning to it recently highlights the perseverance and dedication that elite athletes demonstrate to overcome obstacles and achieve success.
