“What’s Health Got to Do with It?” is a talk program from WJCT in Jacksonville that explores the intersection of health care and daily life. In this episode, the focus is on the mysteries and wonders of the gut.

Gut health experts delve into common digestive disorders, the importance of “good” bacteria, and techniques for promoting a healthy gut microbiome. Guests on the show include Dr. Jami Kinnucan, a gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic, and Megan Riehl, a clinical psychologist and co-author of Mind Your Gut: The Science-Based, Whole-Body Guide to Living Well With IBS.

The program host, Dr. Joe Sirven, along with experts, also discussed social determinants of health and how a care team model can address unmet medical needs within communities. Guests include Ana Aragon, a journalist and medical student at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Augustine Chavez, a family physician at Mayo Clinic, and Michael Campbell, a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist at Mayo Clinic.
