Gulf Stock Markets Experience Year-Long Increase Despite Challenges
The Gulf stock markets experienced a year-long increase on Thursday, despite fluctuations caused by low oil prices and geopolitical tensions. The UAE’s Dubai market index rose 0.85% to 4208.46 points, with a liquidity of 414.17 million dirhams. Additionally, the Abu Dhabi market saw an increase of 0.18% to 9182.47 points, with a liquidity of 992.92 million dirhams.
In Saudi Arabia, the Saudi market index closed Thursday’s session with a 0.3% increase at 12,502 points, with transactions totaling about 8.2 billion riyals. ACWA Power shares rose 4% to 436.40 riyals, marking their highest close since listing. Meanwhile, SABIC shares fell 1% to 80.90 riyals.
Kuwait’s Stock Exchange also experienced an increase of 1.26% to 6997 points, with transactions totaling 83.7 million Kuwaiti dinars on Thursday
