Group Hooliganism: The Burning Tire Incident on the Yerevan-Yeraskh Highway

Criminal Investigation Started for Traffic Interruption with Burning Tires on Yerevan-Yeraskh Road

On April 24, criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with the disruption of traffic on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway caused by burning tires. The investigation was launched under the category of group hooliganism as defined in Article 297, Part 2, Clause 1 of the Criminal Code.

According to the Investigative Committee, at 4:25 p.m., unidentified individuals moved Ford Tranzit, BMW X5, and Mercedes Benz vehicles onto the lanes of the Yerevan-Yeraskh interstate highway, Masisi section, and stacked numerous tires. These tires were set ablaze on one side towards Yeraskh and on the other side towards Yerevan, resulting in the disruption of traffic on that stretch of road for a period of time.

The police have been tasked with identifying the individuals responsible for this act, locating them, and presenting them to the authorities handling the ongoing investigation.
