Greg Hardy’s Foray into Boxing: A Successful yet Short-Lived Career in the Fight Game

Greg Hardy suffers a knockout defeat in Texas boxing match

In recent years, former NFL pass rusher Greg Hardy has been making a name for himself in the fight game. After an impressive 3-0 record as a professional boxer, Hardy faced off against Patrick Mailata in a Texas Combat League match. Despite his success, Hardy was ultimately knocked out in the contest.

Despite his love of combat sports, Hardy has also dabbled in mixed martial arts (MMA). Between 2017 and 2022, he posted a respectable 7-5 record before being released by the UFC. In 2023, Hardy once again stepped into the ring – this time for a bareknuckle boxing contest – but he was knocked out yet again.

Hardy’s career in the NFL came to an end in 2015 when he played for the Cowboys. Prior to that season, he had a standout year with 13.0 sacks. However, domestic violence allegations led to him missing most of the season on the Commissioner Exempt list. Despite his success on the field, Hardy’s off-field issues ultimately led to his departure from pro football after just one season with Dallas.
