Green Innovators: Detroit Regional Chamber Celebrates 2024 Crain’s Notable Leaders in Sustainability

Matt Elliott, Chair of the Chamber Board, Recognized as a Leading figure in Sustainability on 2024 Crain’s Detroit Business List

The Detroit Regional Chamber congratulates its Board Chair, Matt Elliott, President of Bank of America Michigan and Sustainability Executive for Global Commercial Banking and Business Banking, for being named one of the 2024 Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Leaders in Sustainability. According to Crain’s, this year’s honorees include top executives, nonprofit leaders, and entrepreneurs who are making strides toward zero emissions, supporting environmental justice efforts and educational initiatives, and offering green solutions.

Elliott’s award profile highlights his work with his sustainability team to engage over 40,000 clients in sustainability principles to help grow their businesses. Under his leadership, the team trained all Bank of America’s commercial banking and business banking managers on how to advocate for net-zero operations, with over 1,200 commercial relationship managers receiving training. He also played a key role in supporting the bank’s $1.5 trillion sustainable finance commitment.

The Chamber also extends congratulations to several other honorees from member companies for their recognition in the field of sustainability. These individuals include Knox Cameron from DTE Energy, Denise Carlson from Denso, Christy Clark from DTE Energy, Cory Connolly from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, Lois DeBacker from The Kresge Foundation
