Governor Whitmer Highlights the Importance of Connecting with Conservative Communities in Michigan’s Upcoming Elections

Whitmer shifts focus to the economy while campaigning for Biden

During a recent visit to a newly opened campaign headquarters in Livingston County, Governor Gretchen Whitmer emphasized the importance of visiting conservative areas like Brighton. She believes that Democrats need to show that they understand the significance of every vote in the upcoming 2024 election, especially after Biden faced challenges in areas like Livingston County four years ago. Despite concerns about inflation, Michigan’s unemployment rate remains low at 3.9%, and Whitmer believes that wages are increasing. She also highlighted other economic issues that voters are concerned about, such as reproductive rights, access to skills training for better job opportunities, and onshoring supply chains.
