Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro discussed the rise of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hate with Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan on Sunday. He reassured the public that there are no known threats at the moment, and the Pennsylvania State Police are working closely with federal and local partners to address any potential threats and keep communities informed.
Governor Shapiro emphasized that there should be no place for hate in Pennsylvania, a state founded on the principles of tolerance, peace, and welcome for people of all faiths and backgrounds. During the interview, Brennan and Shapiro also talked about the state’s energy economy. Governor Shapiro mentioned that Pennsylvania has a long history of powering the nation’s energy needs and now has the opportunity to lead in the clean energy economy. He highlighted the state’s status as the only one in the nation with two regional hydrogen hubs and credited President Biden for supporting these efforts.
