Google’s AI Ignores Holocaust Questions, Sparks Outrage on Social Media

AI Declines to Disclose Number of Jewish Victims in Holocaust

In a video shared by Instagram user Michael Apfel, a question was posed to Google’s virtual assistant: “Hey Google, how many Jews were murdered by the Nazis?”. The response the questioner received was simply “Sorry, I don’t understand.” This same response was given to other queries related to the Holocaust, such as “How many Jews were killed during World War II?”, “What was the Holocaust?” and “Who did Adolf Hitler try to kill?”.

However, interestingly, Google’s device was able to provide a detailed description of the “Nakba”, referring to it as the “ethnic cleansing of Palestinians”. This led to outrage on social media, with many accusing Google’s AI of denying the Holocaust and raising concerns about the reliability of the information provided by the tech giant. In response to the criticism, Google stated that it was a localized bug and not intentional. They assured that immediate action had been taken to fix the issue.
