Advancing AI and Cloud with Google Cloud Next 2024: Introducing the Potential of Gemini 1.5 Pro

Google unveiled several new artificial intelligence advancements at its annual Cloud Next ’24 event, aimed at businesses, developers, and content creators. These innovations include AI-optimized infrastructure and enhanced features in Vertex AI, catering to a wider audience of public and private organizations.

One of the most significant highlights from the event was the introduction of important updates related to the Gemini model and notable improvements in artificial intelligence for developers and end-users. Several new options were announced to access a range of AI models, such as Gemini 1.5 Pro with advanced capabilities and Image 2.0, which can convert text to images in real-time. Additionally, enhancements were made to Vertex AI, allowing organizations to customize natural language models with their own data, expanding the platform’s functionality.

Google Cloud also showcased new ways to enhance infrastructure for artificial intelligence. They introduced AI Hypercomputer, a supercomputer that uses advanced technology to train AI models more efficiently, and Google Axion, a new processor that delivers better performance while consuming less power.

Google Cloud AI now offers new features that integrate with Google Search and data from apps like Workday and Salesforce, simplifying the development of applications. Additionally, Gemini Code Assist and Gemini Cloud Assist, available as a trial, streamline the process of writing code and managing apps.

Furthermore, Gemini is incorporated into applications available in Latin America as a preview, albeit currently only in English. These advancements demonstrate Google’s commitment to advancing artificial intelligence technology and making it more accessible to a broader audience.
