Golub Capital Expands Insurance Investment Banking Business with Hire of Jennifer Potenta

Golub Capital Seeks Expansion in Insurance Sector

Golub Capital, a leading investment firm, is expanding its insurance investment banking business with the hire of Jennifer Potenta as its managing director and head of insurance solutions. Potenta was previously the global head of private fixed income and alternatives at MetLife, where she managed a $120 billion portfolio of private debt and private equity investments. With Potenta on board, Golub Capital aims to sell capital-raising and asset-management services to insurers worldwide.

As a lucrative market, life and annuity issuers continue to attract investment firms such as Golub Capital. Golub Capital specializes in managing private equity assets, private credit assets, broadly syndicated loan programs, collateralized loan obligation programs, and business development company programs. The firm currently has $65 billion of capital under management. In 2023, Golub Capital was one of the lead investors in helping Reinsurance Group of America set up the Ruby Re “sidecar,” a reinsurance arrangement designed to share risk with outside investors.

Potenta holds a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell and a master’s degree in business from Emory. She began her career in insurance asset management in 2006 at Voya before spending approximately 16 years at MetLife. Now serving as Golub Capital’s managing director for insurance solutions, Potenza brings a wealth of industry expertise and experience to the firm’s growing insurance investment banking business.
