Global leaders convene to showcase advancements in innovation and technology

Leaders from approximately 20 countries have gathered in one location to focus on bringing innovation, collaboration, and economic development to the United States and beyond. The summit, organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce, is being held in Grand Rapids, Michigan and has attracted delegates from Central, North, and South America.

Alejandra Y. Castillo, Assistant Secretary for the U.S. Department of Commerce, emphasizes the importance of sharing ideas and working together to address pressing issues in society. She stresses that when it comes to economic development, leaders need to focus on people, places, and possibilities. This includes highlighting the talents and assets of individuals as well as the potential contributions of urban and rural areas.
