Global Baseball Battle Comes to South Florida and Houston: The 2026 World Baseball Classic

2026 World Baseball Classic to be held in four international venues, including Japan, Puerto Rico, and two MLB stadiums

The World Baseball Classic (WBC) has announced the venue selections for its 2026 tournament, which will be the sixth edition of the event. The 2026 WBC will kick off in March of that year and will take place at loanDepot Park in Miami, Minute Maid Park in Houston, the Tokyo Dome in Japan, and Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The tournament has expanded to include 20 countries since the 2023 WBC, where Japan emerged victorious. In 2026, the top 16 teams from the 2023 WBC will automatically qualify, with the remaining four spots filled through the 2025 qualifiers.

Marlins owner Bruce Sherman expressed his pride in having international baseball return to South Florida once again. loanDepot Park has proven to be a popular host for such events and will host all three rounds of the tournament, including the championship game.

Minute Maid Park in Houston is hosting the WBC for the first time in 2026, while Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan and Tokyo Dome have hosted previous editions of the tournament.
