Giants Add Another Piece to Their 2023 Draft Class with Signed TE Theo Johnson

Theo Johnson, Fourth-Round Pick, Signs with Giants

The Giants have signed fourth-round pick Theo Johnson, making him the fifth member of their 2023 draft class to join the team. Johnson, a talented tight end from Penn State, agreed to a four-year deal with the Giants.

Johnson’s impressive performance during his time at Penn State earned him recognition on the field. In 44 games, he had 77 catches for 938 yards and 12 touchdowns. His standout season was in 2023, where he had 34 catches and seven touchdowns.

With Johnson signed, only one player from the six-member class remains unsigned: second-round safety Tyler Nubin. Despite this, the Giants have a solid group of tight ends lined up for the upcoming season, including Daniel Bellinger, Jack Stoll, Chris Manhertz, Lawrence Cager, and Tyree Jackson. However, there is some uncertainty surrounding Darren Waller’s plans for next season as he is under contract but has been contemplating retirement and has not confirmed his plans yet.
