Walt Disney World’s Test Track is undergoing construction to begin work on the third version of the popular EPCOT thrill ride. The attraction closed on June 16, with walls put up to block the entrance to the pavilion. A “Coming Soon” tagline is displayed on a construction wall, and while a reopening date has not been announced, it is estimated that the next-generation Test Track attraction will be closed for at least a year.
Imagineers and teams from Chevrolet are drawing inspiration from the original World of Motion to create a new experience for visitors. The current version 2.0 of Test Track opened in December 2012 as part of Chevrolet’s sponsorship deal with Disney. The concept art for Test Track 3.0 shows a sleek new entrance marquee, promising visitors an unforgettable journey through the world of automotive innovation.
