Georgia Bulldogs: The Team to Beat in College Football for 2024

The Georgia Bulldogs have been ranked as the top college football team in the country by Pro Football Focus for their 2024 rankings. The Bulldogs are expected to return several key players, including starting quarterback Carson Beck, a talented group of pass catchers, a strong offensive line, and a stacked defense. According to PFF, these factors contribute to Georgia being favored over any other team on a neutral site based on their point spread team ratings.

The SEC will feature 16 teams in the upcoming season with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. PFF gives Georgia a 26.5% chance to win the SEC, while ranking Texas as the second-best team behind the Bulldogs. The October matchup between Georgia and Texas in Austin is expected to be a crucial game in the SEC championship race.

Despite PFF ranking Georgia’s schedule as the 15th-most challenging in the country, ESPN’s Football Power Index believes it to be even tougher. The Bulldogs will face difficult road games at Ole Miss and Alabama, in addition to their matchup against Texas.

PFF has identified Georgia as having the highest chance to win a national championship in the country. The Bulldogs’ 18.95% chance to hoist the national title is more than double that of any other team, setting high expectations for the upcoming season
