Genoa Makes Formal Offer for Tottenham’s Djed Spence Amidst Bidding War

Club Makes Official Offer to Tottenham for Star Player

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Italian Serie A side Genoa has made a formal offer to Tottenham Hotspur for full-back Djed Spence. According to Romano, Spence spent the second half of the season on loan at Genoa after a stint at Leeds United in the Championship. The club had negotiated an option to buy Spence for £10m, but they now believe this price is too high and are looking to pay less.

Genoa’s sporting director has expressed confidence in Spence’s abilities, describing him as having untapped potential and Champions League quality. He is valued for his attacking contributions on the flank. Despite falling out of favor at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou, Spence is still considered a talented player that could benefit Genoa’s squad.

Tottenham is willing to sell the player, but it will depend on whether Genoa’s bid meets their expectations. The outcome of negotiations between the two clubs remains to be seen.
