Gambino’s Final Album, ‘Bando Stone & The New World,’ to Feature Surprising Rock Sound and Interactive Experience

Childish Gambino Announces Release Date for ‘Bando Stone & The New World’

Childish Gambino is set to release his final album, titled “Bando Stone & The New World,” on July 19. This news comes with the release of the album’s first single, titled “Lithonia,” which showcases a new sound for Gambino as he explores rock territory with heavy guitars and reverberating vocals.

The announcement of the album release follows the premiere of the trailer for Gambino’s upcoming film “Bando Stone & The New World,” which coincided with his appearance at the BET Awards. In the film, Gambino plays the main character, wandering through an empty world before encountering a mother and son. Together, they fight for survival in a dystopian society filled with giant squids and menacing birds.

Gambino will host an interactive experience to preview “Band Stone & The New World” on July 6 at Little Island in New York City. Tickets for this event will go on sale starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET. To celebrate this new chapter, Gambino will embark on his previously announced New World Tour. The tour begins on August 11 in Oklahoma City, with stops planned in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Chicago before heading to Europe and Australia. Willow and Aamarae are set to join him as supporting acts for the tour.

In April, Gambino first revealed his plans to release two final albums during a conversation about his Gilga project. The first album, an updated version of his surprise release “3.15.20,” which quietly dropped in March 2020 under its original title “Atavista,” was released in May under its original title.
