Fulham’s High Ticket Prices: Is the Popularity of Global Fans Worth It?

Conflict between devoted fans and casual visitors

As part of a BBC Sport survey, Premier League season ticket holders were invited to share their opinions on the cost of attending matches. Fulham fans, in particular, have expressed their dissatisfaction with the high prices they pay to watch their team. The club’s non-corporate season ticket is the most expensive in the league, with those seated in certain sections of the new Riverside Stand paying over £150 per home league match. Despite its popularity among global fans, Fulham’s west London location and proximity to the Thames have made it one of the most expensive destinations for watching Premier League football.

Fulhamish podcast host Sammy James has spoken out about the issue, stating that while tourist revenue may be attractive, it can also put off long-term fans who will come every week. Meanwhile, Sarah Keig from the Fulham Lillies supporters group has raised concerns about what may happen if Fulham are relegated again and their supporters are priced out of attending matches. While there are still season tickets available for less than £500 in certain areas at Craven Cottage, next season all non-Riverside Stand tickets will see a 4% increase in price.
