Fueling a greener future: Air Liquide and TotalEnergies’ joint venture to promote hydrogen adoption for Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The hydrogen-powered fleet for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris is being supported by a new hydrogen refuelling station at Place de l’Alma, located in the city center. Funding for the station was received from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership as part of the H2ME2 programme, a public-private partnership supported by the EU Horizon’s 2020 research and innovation programme, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research. This initiative is just one of many that Air Liquide is working on to accelerate the development and adoption of hydrogen technology.

Air Liquide has also partnered with TotalEnergies to launch a joint venture called TEAL Mobility, which aims to establish a network of 100 hydrogen refuelling stations to support the acceleration of hydrogen heavy-duty trucks. The stations will be under the TotalEnergies brand, with an interim goal of operating around 20 stations in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany starting in 2024.

Armelle Levieux, a Member of Air Liquide’s Executive Committee overseeing hydrogen activities, stated, “Paris 2024 represents a fantastic opportunity to accelerate the development and adoption of hydrogen.” With its continued investment in this technology, Air Liquide is helping to pave the way for a more sustainable future.
