From Top 10 to No. 4: Georgia’s Recruiting Roll Continues with Isaiah Gibson’s Commitment

Georgia Bulldogs land five-star recruit Isaiah Gibson, leading to top-five ranking in 2025 recruiting class

In the world of college football, recruiting is everything. And Georgia has been on a roll for years now, consistently finishing in the top-10 in recruiting rankings each year. This past week, they landed another big fish: five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, who is considered the top-ranked edge rusher in his class. With his commitment, Georgia moved up to the No. 4 spot in the recruiting rankings, just behind Ohio State, Alabama, and Notre Dame.

Gibson had previously committed to USC but backed off from that pledge last week. He had an official visit scheduled at Oklahoma over the weekend but decided to cancel it as well. Ultimately, he chose Georgia after considering Ohio State beforehand.

With Gibson’s addition to their roster, Georgia’s 2025 class now boasts 15 members. They join other highly touted players such as five-star TE Elyiss Williams, five-star linebacker Zayden Walker, four-star edge Darren Ikinnagbon, and four-star LB Jadon Perlotte.

Coach Smart and his staff were actively involved in recruiting Gibson and showed their commitment to him throughout the process. After he committed to Georgia last week, Coach Smart immediately reached out to him along with other members of the coaching staff.

Georgia has a strong track record of successfully recruiting top talent under coach Smart since he took over in 2015. They had a historic recruiting class in 2024 by landing four five-star defenders. The current 2025 class is on a similar trajectory and aims to continue Georgia’s success in bringing in high-caliber players to the program.

In conclusion, Georgia’s future looks bright with their continued success in recruiting top talent like Gibson. With Coach Smart leading the way and a strong coaching staff by his side, they are poised for continued success on the gridiron for years to come.
