On Friday, European Tour pro Louis de Jager made headlines during the second round of the Soudal Open in Belgium. After nearly hitting the pond with his tee shot on the 13th hole, de Jager faced a challenging situation when his ball landed in a marshy pit. The South African golfer took off his shirt and loosened his belt before taking his next shot.

One broadcaster commented on de Jager’s actions, with another questioning if it was necessary. Despite this controversy, de Jager’s unconventional move paid off as he managed to get out of the mud pit with his second shot, even though he had to settle for a bogey. De Jager finished the day at 2-under par and T23, but more importantly, he left the course with a clean shirt.

Spain’s Nacho Elvira currently leads the tournament after two rounds, with Ross Fisher closely behind. Stay tuned to Fox News Digital for more updates on this event and subscribe to our sports newsletter for all the latest news and updates from around the world of golf.
